Summary: | Â KPHP (Production Forest Management Unit) of Lakitan is a local
government which has territorial authorities. The development process of KPHP
of Lakitan involves many stakeholders especially institutions such as government
institutions, private and the society which is often faced with egoinstansi. This
paper presents an analysis of the relationship between KPHP of Lakitan with other
institutions in order to reconstruct alternative design of the relationship and the
proper strategy to make it happen. This study uses qualitative methods which is
based on primary data obtained through in-depth interviews and direct
observations, as well as secondary data obtained through the study of
documentation and library.
The implementation of KPHP development can be reviewed from area
development and institution development. The form of institution/organization
from KPHP managerial, is it as SKPD or UPTD should be turned over to the local
government, according to the conditions of the area, budget, human resources and
political support. The institutions that involved to KPHP development are
classified into internal institution and external institution.
In order to realize an independent and professional KPHP, it needs to be
given greater authority in area managerial, which is the authority in the area�s
assessment and supervision of business license utilization and usage of the area,
the authority in granting small scale licence that does not have a major impact and
importance, and the management of the area directly. Relationship design
between KPHP of Lakitan with other institutions placing KPHP as SKPD with a
matrix organizational structure design which is assessed gives great hope
realization of sustainable forest management.Â
