Summary: | Background: Between 2004-2011, the number of people with herpes in
Purwosari Sub-district, Gunung Kidul District, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta has
increased by more than 800% and every year new patients are discovered.
Information on herpes are limited, public discussion are unpopular. People with
herpes experience pain that limit their daily activities and causes discomfort in
social interaction, and psychological issues which affect life quality.
Objective: The study aim to analyze perception of the people living with herpes,
community, health workers toward herpes and the affect of herpes on quality of
life of individuals
