| description | As the rapid development of information technology and human convenience in accessing information in a various information media that exist today, Tourism Information Centre/TIC in Yogyakarta is required to provide facilities and services in access to tourism information needs effectively and efficiently. Problems faced by TIC in Yogyakarta today are the availability and completeness of tourist information that have not been accurate, up-to-date and informative. In addition, information technology has not been fully utilized and TIC does not have a service standards in the management of human resources. The development of TIC model is expected to be the solution for the presence of TIC in Yogyakarta to be able to have a better role in improving the quality of tourist information services and marketing development of Yogyakarta tourism as one of the leading tourism destinations in Indonesia. Model development of TIC is done by evaluating the current condition of TIC and TIS (Tourist Information Service) which are managed by Yogyakarta Provincial Tourism Authority include Malioboro TIC, Tugu Station TIS, Adi Sucipto Airport TIS and Integrated Yogyakarta TIC in Kuta, Bali as supporting location of research and identify the TIC need of managers, visitors (international tourists and domestic tourists) and operators on TIC development aspects such as physical, facilities and services as well as management. The conditions of currently TIC are considered good enough (3.4) by visitors and TIC operators. However, they still have higher expectations (4.0) for the development of TIC in the future. Therefore, Yogyakarta Provincial Tourism Authority still needs to improve the performance of the TIC to prioritize development in aspects of facilities and services that especially located in quadrant I, which consists of the use of technology, internet access/wifi and TIC clarity signage, hotel reservations/tickets/tours facility and maintain quality aspects that located in quadrant II in importance-performance matrix. Based on the research results, the model of independent TIC and online TIC are ideal model to be implemented in Yogyakarta. |
