Summary: | AISI 410 Martensitic stainless steel is widely applied to various industrial
equipment and medical equipment. Properties of AISI 410 stainless steel can be
improved by providing a surface treatment, one with a plasma nitriding. Plasma
nitriding on surface material has the advantage, little distortion, lower operating
temperatures, shorter operating time and can be used for all steel materials. This
research aims is to study the effect of a thin layer of nitrogen on hardness,
corrosion rate, composition and the microstructure which is nitrided using
plasma glow discharge on AISI 410 stainless steel
