description Vortex tube is a kind of simple cooling device, which can be used for two functions, that is for cooling effect (refrigerator) and heating effect (heat pump). Generally, vortex tube needs compressed air as input from air compressor in order to work. This research aims is to design and analyze vacuum pump for vortex tube, so that it can be integrated to vortex tube. This research was conducted by selecting vacuum pump using the velocity triangle concept, examine the variable that support the vacuum pump, and data testing. The result shows that vacuum pump have worked despite there is a pressure difference between the design and the prototype. The error rate obtained from this research is 35 %
