Summary: | Tailings flowed through the river of Agawagon located
in the east of timika city. This can have a negative impact
to the surrounding environment because the numbers continue
to grow and until now has not been used optimally. In the
middle of problem, obtained information about the mine
waste tailings of PT. Freeport Indonesia which can be used
as a construction material of concrete or mortar modified
with polymers. Variations mixture using cement aggregate
ratio for A(1:2,5 f.a.s 0,7), B (1:2,5 f.a.s 0,64) and C (1:2,25
f.a.s 0.,55) coupled with the polymer ratio of 1% from cement
weight for all of these comparisons. Any comparison will be
done as compressive strength test, flexural strength, modulus
of elasticity, and tensile strength of briquettes. From the
testing of concrete mortar at 28 days for the cement
aggregate ratio of A, B, and C obtained compressive strength
are 26,5 MPa, 29,68 MPa and 32,41 MPa respectively Flexural
strength value of 2,53 MPa, 2.87 MPa, and 3,9 MPa
respectively Modulus of Elasticity are 13954,72 Mpa, 14358,47
MPa and 16286,74 MPa. and respectively Tensile strength of
briquette 2,79 MPa, 2,78 MPa and 2,89 MPa. Thereby tailings
waste of PT. Freeport Indonesia can be used for mix
materials of concrete mortar should be watched by
professional staff.
