Description
Summary:Indonesia as an agricultural country, has a huge potential of land resources. Productive land is used to cultivate various agricultural and plantation commodities. Tobacco is one of the commodities that is widely cultivated in Indonesia and has a high economic value. Tobacco cultivation should be done with attention to aspects of land preservation. Planting on land that is not suitable, in the long term will result in decreased quality of land or land degradation. Departing from this, land suitability analysis is required for tobacco plantations by focusing on land preservation, namely Erosion potential (TBE) Land suitability analysis for the present study, carried out by the method of SIG Multi Criteria Analysis (MCA). The output of this method is a probabilistic analysis of land suitability by analyzing the correlation or relationship between the existing condition (productivity) with a characteristic constituent physical condition of land The purpose of this study is (1) mapping existing condition (productivity) tobacco, (2) Mapping the research areas of land characteristics, (3) Mapping of erosion potential research areas, (4) determine the correlation between the level of productivity of a tobacco plantation to the characteristics of land and of erosion potential, and (5) Mapping the suitability of land for tobacco plantations with Multi Criteria Analysis (MCA) With MCA, 29.25% of land area in the district of Temanggung is a very suitable land for tobacco plantations (S1), 20, 42% is quite appropriate, 41.56% marginally suitable (S3), 7.14% is not suitable (N1), and the remaining 1.62% was incompatible (N2).
