| Summary: | Housing is a ket of houses that completed by the kinds of facilities. Social
facilities which consist of public service facilities, educational, health, trade,
worship, cultural and open space facilities, parks, and sport fields are important
facilities that need to be provided in a residential neighborhood. Social facilities
are provided to fulfill the needs an improve the quality of life of existing residents
within the reach of its services. SNI (2004) about the reach of service show that
each facilities has different reach of social services, so in the provision of social
facilities need to be adjusted to the reach of service in order to the whole
population can be served and used the social facilities that have been provided.
This research aimed to evaluate that concept in Perumahan Jatisari Semarang. In
addition, this research also identifies the reach of services social facilities
standards that relevant or irrelevant to be used in planning.
The method of this research used deductive approach with quantitative
and qualitative data analysis. Sample was done by random sampling with
stratified random sampling on a number of 100 respondents housing residents.
Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis that divided into three phases, they
are, (1) analysis of social reach facilities by identifying each variable reach of
social service facilities, (2) evaluation of the reach of social services facilities
performed by comparing the actual condition of the reach social services with
standard facilities, (3) analysis of conformity and non conformity the reach of
social services facilities performed by comparing the specified variables of SNI
with research result.
This research found that there are some social facilities in Perumahan
Jatisari Semarang with quality service that is not good enough in educational and
cultural facilities. It is caused by the needs of population can not be served, so
they use social facilities beyond the reach of social service facilities. Meanwhile,
the result show that some reach of social service facilities standards do not comply
with the condition on the ground, such as, public service facilities, educational
facilities, religious and cultural facilities. The reach of services standards the
facility can not be used as guide to plan social facilities. It is happen because
every social facilities have characteristics and diversity of user needs that have not
been described in the variable in the SNI.
