Problems and Objectives:
The problems in this study were (1) How do the characteristics of Kayen Temple brick and bricks used by craftsmen in Sukolilo village? (2) What is the context between Kayen Temple and craftsmen in Sukolilo village, Sukolilo, Pati? The objectives of this study were (1) To know the characteristics of the Kayen Temple bricks as suggestion for the selection of temple reconstruction material in the future, (2) To know the context between Kayen Temple bricks and bricks by craftsmen in the Sukolilo village, Sukolilo, Pati.
Methods:
Method used in this study was a qualitative method with experimental inductive reasoning. The analysis used was petrographic analysis on each brick sample.
Conclusion:
The quality of Kayen Temple bricks was better than the bricks from craftsmen in Sukolilo village. Kayen Temple bricks was produced locally. Raw material in the Kayen Temple is gotten from Mount Muria area. Bricks had been produced by craftsmen in Sukolilo can be used as raw material for the reconstruction process at Kayen Temple with certain modification. |
