| Summary: | Dental arch is an arch formed by the teeth. Maxillary dental arch retain
and control the mandibular dental arch. Javanese and Bugis are in intra race, but
had a different culture and physical characteristics. This study aims to determine
the differences in height and width of maxillary dental arch Javanese and Bugis.
Sixty subjects of Javanese Dentistry students of the year 2009-2012 and
Bugis student in the dormitory of South Sulawesi in Yogyakarta. Data were
obtained through models of maxillary dental arch samples then were measured by
sliding caliper. Statistical analysis of two-way ANOVA was used to determine the
difference between the height and width of maxillary dental arch Javaanese and
Bugis.
The average height and width of maxillary dental arch are greater in
Bugis. ANOVA test result showed that there is a difference between the height
and width of maxillary dental arch Javanese and Bugis (p<0,05). The conclusion
of this study is there is a difference between the height and width of maxillary
dental arch Javanese and Bugis. |
