Summary: | Background: The leader who has a good relationship will make people comfortable
and another party will benefit to all parties (Manion, 2005). The more appropriate
leadership style wards, the better the performance of duties diruang care nurses,
because they want a leader who respects the dignity , otonomy and selfesteem(
Swansburg, 1990).
Objective: To determine the perceptions of nurse leadership style room in Imanuel
Hospital inpatient room. Knowing the implementation of standards of nursing care in
inpatient Imanuel Hospital. Knowing the relationship between nurse perceptions of
leadership styles with performance head room nurse at Imanuel Hospital inpatient
Methods: The study design was a case study of type 1 (Yin, 2009). Where research
is covered by more than one unit of analysis. The research starts from the 1st until
31 December 2012, taking the completeness of nursing documentation data
contained within each patient's records, distributing questionnaires at the study's
respondents, amounting to 93 nurses who served in the adult inpatient unit, inpatient
children, inpatient obstetrics , ICU and VIP, as well as conduct interviews with six of
the head room inpatient of Imanuel Hospital
Results: Five of the six wards led by chief gues with the democratic leadership style.
And only one room, who led by the head of the room with autocratik leadership
style. Obstetric wards unemployed SAK 23.80%. Wards the achievement of children
have SAK 90.70%. ICU unemployed SAK 93.30%. VIP unemployed SAK 93.20%.
Wards the achievement of adult women have SAK 91.10%. Wards the achievement
of adult men have SAK 93.80%.
Implementation of nursing care documentation on aspects of the assessment reaches
80.9% average completeness. Aspects of nursing diagnoses reached an average of
82.4% completeness. Planning aspects of nursing achieve average 66.9%. Aspects of
nursing actions to reach an average of 90.4% completeness. Evaluation aspects of
nursing care to reach an average of 87.5% completeness.
Analysis of the relationship between perception of leadership style head nurse in the
room with the performance of this test is done with the fisher. From the test results
are known Fisher test significance value of 0.167 t count. Because of the significance
of more than 0.05, it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship
between perception of leadership style performance space with a nurse.
Conclusion: The rooms were led with a democratic leadership style has a complete
documentation of nursing care numbers better than the room wich led by the other
leadership styles. There is no significant relationship between nurse perceptions of
leadership styles with performance of head room nurse at Imanuel Hospital.
