Description
Summary:Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) is increasingly developed in all countries in this world. The global development also influence the development of SDI in Asia, including Indonesia. Geoportal is one of the gateways for spatial data user to determine the condition of an SDI in a country. The pushes of spatial information requirement led geoportal update in many countries. It can be showed by the development of spatial data which are more complete in their respective countries, with Indonesia is not an expensive. Nevertheless, there is no information regarding the completeness of the data geoportal Indonesia. The aim of this study is to Asia study the spatial data availability in the Indonesia geoportal compared to other countries. The focus of this research is to conduct a comparison geoportal Indonesia on the aspects of data completeness. The initial process is conducted by finding the geoportal ownership in each country. From 50 countries in Asia, there are only 22 countries owning geoportal which are able to be accessed by public (without requiring an ID and password) and investigated. The research uses 20 kinds of data which are divided based on three criteria. The first and second criteria consists of seven sub-criteria, while the third criterion consist of six sub-criteria. The assessment based were geoportal availibilty in each countries and on the presence or absence of data according to the predetermined categories. The analysis includes analysis of geoportal availability in each country in Asia and analysis of the availability of data on the geoportal each countries in Asia. The research result provides the classification of the completeness of geoportal data in Indonesia compared with other countries in Asia. Indonesian geoportal data is classified as average with percentage value 58% same with Thailand and Nepal. The results of classification comparison among countries are presented in the form of classification map of data completeness. The map can be divided into two kinds. Those are classification map of data completeness in Southeast Asia and the classification map of data completeness globally in Asia.
