Description
Summary:Preparation of Molybdenum catalyst supported on activated natural zeolite, MoO3/ZAA, has been done. Activated natural zeolite (ZAA) was prepared by grinding the natural zeolite (ZA) to 60-80 mesh, then it was washed by water and dealuminated using 0,1 M hidrochloric acid solution, finally it was washed by aquadest and dried in an oven at 130 oC ZAA was then impregnated with (NH4)6Mo7O24·4H2O and oxided at 400 oC using carbon dioxide gas at flow rate of 20 mL/minute. Basicity of natural zeolite and the catalysts were determined by titration method using 0,1 M benzoic acid solution. Isomerization of 1-octene using catalyst MoO3/ZAA was done in electric furnace at variation of temperature of 250, 300, 350, 400, 450 oC and variation of catalysts of 10, 20, 30 gram, using N2 and CO2 at flow rate 20 mL/minute as the carrier gases. Vapor of results of the isomerization were cooled in a condensor and then collected for analysis by gas chromatograpgy-mass spectrometric (GC-MS) method. Results of titration method for basicity of ZA and catalysts showed that the MoO3/ZAA had higher basicity value than others, with of basicity of ZA, ZAA, AmMO/ZAA and MoO3/ZAA were 2,62
