Summary: | Acetanilide is one of compound that is used as a raw material in the
manufacture of various kinds of drugs in the pharmaceutical industry. Acetanilide
industrial development in Indonesia have a great opportunity, considering the
increasing of need and until now has been no recorded acetanilide plant has been
established in Indonesia. The import of acetanilid by Indonesia reached 41.666
tons/year in 2008 (BPS, 2008) and tended to increase. Based on the results of the
study, supply ability of acetanilide industry in the world that has existed between
20.000-30.000 tons/year. Therefore, selected for the production capacity of this
plant is 25.000 tons acetanilide / year.
Acetanilide plant is planned to be established in Kebakkramat,
Karanganyar, Central Java. The raw materials used are acetic acid and aniline.
18.206,18 tons / year of acetic acid is obtained from PT. Indo Acidatama Solo,
while the needs of aniline as 20740.58 tons / year is obtained by import from
China.
Acetanilide manufacturing methods used in this plant is reacting acetic
acid with aniline in CSTR producing acetanilide and water. Then the acetanilide
from the reaction products will be crystallized. And then it is followed by solids
separation and drying processes to take its products in the form of acetanilide
crystals. As a support, utility unit supply as much as 56,41 tons / hr of cooling
water, as much as 0,295 m3/hr of residual fuel oil no.6, 350 kVA of power, 100
m3/hr compressed air, and 3548,21 kg/hr of steam.
Calculation of economic evaluation results is fixed capital required equal
to $ 10.964.207,94 and Rp 10.283.009.887,40 and working capital equal to $
16.481.565,98 and Rp 38.068.977.318,40. At 100% production capacity, obtained
ROI before tax of 29,64%, ROI after tax of 14,82%. POT before tax of 2,50 years,
POT after tax of 4,03 years with a BEP of 52,18%, SDP at 35,96%, and 19,06%
of DCFRR. Based on consideration of the economic evaluation results, this
acetanilide plant with capacity of 25.000 tons / year worth to be studied further.
