Summary: | A study on the possibility for utilizing eukaliptus pelita (Eucalyptus
pellita) as a raw material for wood industries had been conducted by processing
the wood into pulp. The wood was from PT Medcopapua Industri Lestari,
Merauke, Papua.
The wood chips were from two different sources that were heartwood and
sapwood. They were processed into pulp by using sulphate process of three
different alkali active of 14%, 16% and 18%, and a Completely Randomized
Design was applied in this study.
The results of research showed that E. pellita coming from Merauke was
appropriate to be used for making pulp with sulphate process as it possesed yield
value from 31,78 � 46,27%
