Summary: | During The New Order era, Yasanti fought for the women labor in the Middle of Java and
Yogyakarta by doing transnational activisms. These activisms were the alternative ways for
NGOs and activists when they faced the authoritarian regime. In that time, Yasanti couldn�t
protest directly to the government because of the repression act from The New Order�s
administration. The Marginalization of the women labor during the industrialization era has
become Yasanti�s main concern. It was because in that era the women labor have been more
exploited than the men labor. The gender segregation was the main cause to the problem. This
study has a purpose to identify the activisms of Yasanti fighting for the women labor through
transnational interactions using the transnational activism concepts such as the global in the
local, transitional processes and the local in the global. Based on of the various data analysis,
the forms of the transnational activism of Yasanti can be seen in forms such as global framing,
internalization, diffusion, scale shifting, externalization and transnational coalitions.
