description Electric refrigerator is expensive and consumes a lot of energy. So it is hard to use an electric refrigerator in rural areas which is not covered by electric power distribution. A cheap, energy-saver, and portable refrigerator is required for operation in that areas. There are many types of refrigerator powered by natural evaporation, e.g. the Zeer Pot made by Mohammed Bah Abba, and the Emily Fridge made by Emily Cummins. This experiment uses two sets of Zeer Pot in different sizes, two sets of Emily Cummins Fridge in different sizes, and two sets of modified Emily Cummins Fridge made of clay and concrete. This modified Emily Cummins Fridge works like a water dispenser. The experiment shows the best performance is the big sized Zeer Pot, which can decrease the temperature inside the refrigerator to 23.8°C. This is 7.6°C lower than the room temperature (31.4°C).
