Summary:Low interest in writing scientific papers among educators can be seen from the lack of scientific papers produced so hard to be promote to the IV/b level even less into IV/d. This study aims to examine the effect of each component of emotional intelligence to the commitment of educators in their career in Junior High School in Tepus subdistrict Gunungkidul regency. The method used is a survey method to obtain the information about the actual effect of the variable aspect of emotional intelligence with a commitment to the career of educators. The subjects are all in Junior High School by educators in Tepus subdistrict, Gunungkidul regency consisting of 52 educators. Data collection techniques in this study quantitatively use a checklist identity educators, instrument enclosed questionnaire and an open questionnaire. To determine the influence of independent variable (Emotional intelligence) or X to dependent variable (Career commitment) or Y uses multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the depth of emotion is the most dominant factor or the most powerful influence on the commitment of teachers in Junior High School in Tepus subdistrict, Gunungkidul in the career of 0.001 with a significance level of 5%. The coefficient of determination (r2) of 0.420 indicates that 42% variation in the variable commitment of educators in a career can be explained by the variables of emotional awareness (X1), emotional fitness (X2), the depth of emotion (X3) and the alchemy of emotion (X4), while the rest of 58% is explained by other factors outside the model.
