Summary: | This study of an experimental study on-line monitoring of audio signals with a microphone during the process of turning mild steel at the time of cutting tool wear before and after wear with the ultimate goal of production cost reduction and product quality improvement . Much of the research conducted to develop a tool condition monitoring system. However, the development difficult to apply. One problem is the price of the sensor is quite expensive, so the only major industry that may apply. Therefore we need an alternative sensor affordable yet accurate and powerful for detecting wear of the cutting tool . The signal is processed using commercial software such as Lab View time domain and frequency domain. Signal received by the Lab View is filtered so that the value that appears is not the signal from the noise in addition to the signal cuts. Of these cuts can be known signal frequency and amplitude values that appear when the cutting tool is worn. As a result of research, the signal can be used to detect the wear of the cutting tool with accurate on-line at affordable prices.
