document for midwives in case of lawsuit filed by their patient.
The study aims to determine the relationship between the private practitioner
midmives� (PPM) knowledge of medical records and their administration in
Sleman Regency and to determine the PPM authority in presenting the content of
medical records for legal purpose in the field of health care. The study employed a
juridical-sociological approach. Legally, what will be investigated are the legal
aspects of the completeness of the medical record documenting midwifery care
and the authority of a PPM in describing the content of documents as required in
legal proceedings. The social aspects studied are the knowledge and educational
level of PPMs. Sample in this study consists of 106 PPMs in the area of Sleman
Regency, recruited based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were obtained
through a questionnaire completed by PPMs and by observation of the
completeness of midwifery care documentation in the medical records. The
analysis and testing employed Spearman Product Moment correlation coefficient.
The results indicate that midwives� knowledge of medical records can be
categorized as excellent 5.71% |
