| Summary: | Survival strategy is a response of someone or household in dealing with
difficult condition, by doing various activities or choices taken to meet household
basic need for keeping household life, particularly one with lower economic level.
This research was intended to study deeply survival strategy of female head of
household in keeping household life and to study social economic factors related to
survival strategy of female head of household in keeping household life.
It used survey method with structured interview technique using
questionnaire and field observation. Sample was determined with random
sampling. The research was conducted in Negeri Hila Leihitu district Maluku
Tengah regency with total sample of 160 household. Analysis was done
qualitatively and quantitatively (cross table, frequency table and Chi-square).
The result indicated that (1) survival strategy developed by female head of
household is use of household resource and occupation diversification to keep
family life. Social economic factors relating to survival strategy is amount of
household member, education level and income level. |
