Summary:The Cow Slaughterhouse in Pontianak is located near the Kapuas river and it has been completed with Wastewater Processing Installation (WPI), however this slaughterhouse still cause environmental pollution. Therefore, it is necessary to study and evaluate the wastewater processing system that has been done by WPI slaughterhouse in Pontianak at this moment, those are including the efficiency level in every wastewater processing unit, the detention time and wastewater discharge the slaughterhouse and it�s necessary also to find some steps that are needed to lead to the slaughterhouse wastewater that meet the effluent quality standard which appropriate with the requirements that was set by the government. The work evaluation based on the efficiency, detention time, and the waste water discharge. The research was conducted by taking the wastewater samples in each location that has been settled. From those samples the BOD, COD, TSS, temperature, and pH tests were conducted. The result of the research indicated that early sedimentation unit and aeration unit were not sufficient enough due to the lack of the detention time that far from standard, and the unit dimension was not approriate with the wastewater that had been produced. Meanwhile the sedimentation unit and the last reservoir unit had been approriate, but it would need repairment on the bottom of the sedimentation unit. The total efficient of wastewater unit process from the parameter had been increased after the experiments were conducted the BOD parameter had increased from 93,98% to 96%, the COD parameter had increased from 88,54% to 90,73%, and the TSS parameter had increased from 86,38% to 90,77%.
