| Summary: | Banjarmasin is a city has close connection with rivers. Since long ago
people in Banjarmasin use river for daily activity. This city have a linkage that
connect water area an land area. Local people call this linkage as �Titian�, that
influence by close connection of water area and land area in the past. Every
function and activity are attempted to close with land and water area, so that
riverbanks in Banjarmasin we can found a lots of titian. Now titian majority
degraded, of physical and quantity. This condition caused there is no regulation
to arrange titian, even in some area titian are removed because considered part
of slump. Based on distinctiveness of titian then performed research to explore
this object.
This research refer to mixed method, between qualitative and quantitative
which support with Space Syntax theory. Space Syntax theory is used to find and
analyze mapping of potency and flaws in the study area. Space syntax theory is
used to compare the empiric theory on study area and conditions according to
space syntax theory.
This research focused on 3 (three) location, that is Sei Baru Area, Kuin
Muara Area and Alalak Tengah Area. Determination of the locations depend on
grouping of function, historical element, macro analysis of space syntax and
variety of titian.
Result of this research is conclude there are diverse forms of titian
configuration which has a value of diverse spaces. Shape configuration which
includes shape of titian, mass pattern, function of the building that affect
integration and activities in the area of water and land, both spatial and visual.
