attraction. In effort to fulfilling the request, it is required the provision of space as a prop for
tourist activities. Pangandaran Beach is located on the South end of the eastern part of West
Java Province having tourism potential with various tourism attractions. The development of
tourism in Pangandaran beach is associated with the provision of space for the fulfillment of
tourist demand effects on the range of the building, where the visible differences between the
character of settlements in the area of tourism with fishing retreat.
This study aims at discovering and studying the physical environment of Pangandaran
Village as influenced by the development of the tourist areas and the spatial patterns of
settlements of the early development of the tourist areas till present. The research location is
in the village of Pangandaran District Ciamis. The data used were both the primary and
secondary ones. Sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling technique.
This research used deductive method with qualitative explorative approach.
Based on our results in mind states that the development of Pangandaran Beach
tourist there are spatial patterns of settlement changes, namely: 1) There is a shift in the
location of the retreat away from the tourist area and beach area, 2) There is a function
change from the house buildings to trade and service center ones, 3) The emergence of
fishermen settlements along the river Cikidang with clustered settlement pattern, overlooking
the river Cikidang oriented and not well-presented ones. |
