Summary: | Absenteeism is a behavior that has a negative effect on the organization, either
directly or indirectly to the organization's ability to provide service excellent. The
occupation of bus driver has a specific characteristics of work conditions in a
relatively long time during its tenure can result in consequences for the person on
this occupation. The objective of the present study is to test the structural model
between tenure and hardiness personality in predicting the absenteeism behavior
directly and indirectly through the mediation of psychosomatic. The subject of
this study are Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) driver's that operated in Yogyakarta. The
number of subjects involved in this study were 74 bus drivers. The results of this
study indicate that hardiness personality has a role of reducing absenteeism
behavior directly and indirectly by suppressing the psychosomatic symptoms.
Tenure has a role to posses absenteeism behavior indirectly by increasing the
psychosomatic symptoms as an mediator. There is a negative relationship between
psychosomatic with absenteeism, which is in contrast with the research
hypothesis. |
