relationship between Mariolle and Mrs. de Burne. It tells about emotional

Emotion and feeling expression in that novel indicate a pessimism. The first
analysis in this research is structural analysis. This analysis is used as the basis
analysis to see the relation between pessimism and the structure of the novel.
After analyzing the novel's structure, the next step is to see pessimism through
semiotic. Semiotic theory that is used is the semiotic theory of Pierce. Semiotic
theory is being used to identify the type of sign and its relation with pessimism.
After sign process, the next analysis is the role of pessimism that appears in novel.
The result of novel's analysis is in the form of structure's elaboration,
categorization of symbol, index, and icon based on Pierce's semiotic, and the role
of pessimism in the story. |
