Summary: | House of Dayak Ngaju society changes from time to time. Huma is one of
derivation of traditional building in Dayak Ngaju people in Central Kalimantan.
The building consists of three parts: batang huma as main building, dampuhan, a
supporting building, and kerayan, a building connecting batang huma and
dampuhan. In addition, huma is also supported by lanting and pasah petahu that
is place for worship. Other supporting building is sandung that is grave of
ancestor. Development and shift in value system affect changes in physical
manifestation of value system in which building does not accord to its origin
guidance. The change is indicated in 21 huma buildings of Dayak Ngaju society in
Talio village, RT 2, Pahandut district in kelurahan Tanjung Pinang, Palangka
Raya, Central Kalimantan province.
The research on huma in Talio village is to examine the historical
background of Dayak Ngaju people movement, in the objective is to see
development level of huma in Talio village, to identify early and current state
against form and functional aspect, to identify original form and functional
aspect of huma in Dayak Ngaju society that is made as reference to see change in
huma in Talio village, to classify huma based on reference to identity change
occur in its form and function, to study factors influencing change in huma of
Dayak Ngaju society in Talio village. The research used rationalistic qualitative
