Description
Summary:Soybean production in Indonesia is facing challenges rfrof diverse growing environments, leading to genotype and environment interaction (GEI). The stability analysis of soybean promising lines that will be released as a new improved cultivars in Indonesia is based on Eberhart & Russell and AMMI method, but for the modification of Eberhart & Russell and GGE biplot has never been done. Comparison from these different methods needs to be studied so that decision making can be more accurate by integrating all information. This research aimed to (1) obtain a stable soybean line according to the method of Eberhart & Russell and its modification, AMMI models, and GGE Biplot, (2) obtain a high-yielding and stable soybean line to be released as a new superior cultivar, and (3) compare the information that need to be considered from the four methods of GEI analysis. Ten soybean genotypes, consisting of eight promising lines and two check cultivars were evaluated at two locations, each in Yogyakarta, Banyuwangi, and West Lombok. The field design for each location was completely randomized design, with four replicates. The results indicate a significant effect of genotype and GEI with respect to yield. Genotypes G100H/SHRW-60-38 and G100H/SHRW-34 were stable according to all methods. Genotypes G100H/SHRW-60-38 was proposed to be released as a new high-yielding and stable according to all methods. The other one was not as its yield is low despite its being stable. Although the methods give sound about stability, AMMI and GGE were more explorative, resulting in more information that can be gained.
