Summary: | This thesis is a library research that actually studies about thoughts and
ideas from a famous Arabic linguist in Baghdad School on the concept of analogy
in Arabic language and linguistic (al-qiya>s ). Emphasis of this thesis is the result of
the innovative thought from Ibn Jinni one of the great linguist of Arabic linguistic
upon the concept of analogy in Arabic language that afford some changes inside
this concept that changes the paradigm of analogical concept in Arabic language,
both in terms of definition nor in its application and implementation on Arabic
linguistic studies. Its mean that Ibn Jinni�s thought about the concept of analogy
has changed some Arabic linguist�s point view both of theoretic and practice.
This thesis is part of descriptive qualitative research. Therefore for getting
the accurate data, researcher has used a scrutinize method with library technique
and writing technique, and for data�s analysis the researcher has used analysis
descriptive data method that used references analysis and content analysis. And
the end, for displaying the data that have been analyzed by researcher as the final
result of this thesis, the researcher used to explain this data with some informal
method for the simplicity understanding by the reader.
From this research, the researcher has found some main points according
to the formulation of problem as follows: first, Ibn Jinni has been succeed to
modify and change the concept of analogy in Arabic linguistic both of
theoretically and practically that is different from before and known as Form
Analogy (Al-Qiya>s Asy-Syakly) that have four provisions, i.e.: Al-Ashlu, Al-
Far�u, Al-Illat and Al-Hukm. Second, the main thought of Ibn Jinni�s concept of
analogy is �everything that has been analogized by Arabic language became a part
of this Arabic language� and this main thought has been implemented
comprehensively in Arabic grammar both in syntactic (Nachwu) or morphology
(Sharf). Third, Ibn Jinni�s concept of analogy in Arabic language also benefits in
Arabic dialectology studies. That by this concept, Ibn Jinni has determined
between Arabic dialects that good to be used or not. And by this concept we found
that the Classical Arabic Language actually is a dialect named Hijazy that popular
in inhabitants and most dialect used by them than has been raised and became
standard language by large.
This research is not the best research because the researcher know his self
and aware of his inadequacies. Therefore, the researcher hopes that this research
can be expended and be enhanced than can be worthwhile for developing
sciences.
