| Summary: | Research entitling \"legend of Sunan Bungkul at society of Darmo, district
of Wonokromo-Surabaya: oral letters analysis of Albert B. Lord\" having formula
of problem is related to folklore which in form of legend. Legend is included in
oral folklore. Previous, legend also included in oral tradition but all expert of
folklore less agrees if folklore changed with oral tradition. Problem is related to
legend of Sunan Bungkul for example how inherited of those oral story is the
from generation to generation hereinafter either of story composition facet,
process its degradation forming of story text. From problem of which there are in
the legend hence emerging question how composition, transmission, performance,
formula, theme, and function in legend of Sunan Bungkul.
Target of this research consist of theoretical target and practical target.
Theoretical target is for example to clearly describe about composition,
transmission, performance, formula, theme, and function in legend of Sunan
Bungkul. while practical target is for example documenting legend of Sunan
Bungkul as asset culture of society of Surabaya specially society of Darmo,
preserve the story of destruction remember the story is less getting of attention of
its collective society and become reference for research hereinafter related to
legend of Sunan Bungkul.
Theory which is used in this research is oral letters theory which told by
Albert B.Lord which in it there are solution about components in oral letters for
example composition, transmission, performance, formula, theme and function.
Method which is used in this research relate to field data so that there are data
collecting method and data analysis.
Result of research indicate that composition Legend of Sunan Bungkul is
character and place of story composition which showed no change in narrative
text
