Summary: | One of the activities of An-Naml recitation in the Giwangan Village,
Subdistrict of Umbulharjo, Yogyakarta city is the economic empowerment of its
members. This research using descriptive method with qualitative and
quantitative. The data collected using in-depth interview, active participant
observation and deployment of questionnaires to 15 members selected (purposive
sampling). Tool of analysis is descriptive analysis, paired sample t-test, and
correlation analysis.
Based on economic target, the members are given business training or
productive skills and business capitalization with revolving loan system.
Nevertheless, there are still many members who pay late or even stuck in refunds,
it is because funds still lent to who are not entrepreneurs, funds awarded are not
adjusted its production costs, there is no control of the use of funds as well as
business mentoring, lack of active enforcement of mandatory savings with regular
withdrawals by the managers of recitation, and borrowers said no money to
return it whereas they work almost everyday.
Based on descriptive analysis is found that the average of total income per
month (from food business, other businesses and their family) has increased. But
specifically from food business is known that only 5 people( 33.3 percent ) whose
incomes have increased, 4 people ( 26.7 percent ) is fixed, 6 people ( 40 percent )
is decreasing. The allocation for consumption and health costs also increased,
while the education cost is decreasing, one of the reason is they lack the funds to
finance their children's schools to a higher level. Income set aside for savings and
religious (for donation (infaq), giving(sadaqah) and sacrifice (qurban)) has
increased, but ironically, their debt is also increasing. Paired sample t-test proves
that there is a difference of the total income, between before and after getting a
loan. But specifically, the food business income (both absolute value and
proportion value) is known that only the proportion value that there is a
difference, ie tarithmetic > ttable (2.154 > 2.145). The allocation of total income is
known that there is no difference, except the absolute value of consumption, ie (-
3.401<-2.145). The savings and religious funds are known no difference except
the absolute value of infaq and sadaqah. The results of correlation analysis
proving that between total income and savings, both before and after getting a
loan is positive correlation. Between total income and religious funds is also
positive, except the condition after getting loan funds, tend to be not correlated, ie
as indicated by the significance value P > α (0.503 > 0.05). About the food
processed is found that many members are less concerned about the cleanliness
and health of their production. Regarding to the loan system is known that
recitation still take the usury (riba), which gives an additional of 10 percent of the
loan principal, with a maximum of 11 months installments.
