Summary: | This graduating paper analyzes Pecola Breedlove�s inferiority complex in
Toni Morrison�s The Bluest Eye. This research paper discusses the psychological
disorder of Pecola because of the humiliations and harshness she receives from
people around her. Besides, the misconception of beauty is also becoming the
background of her psychological disorder.
The research looked into the novel without relating it with the novel�s writer
and her environment. To support the paper, library based research is used. The novel
itself becomes the main data and references from libraries and internet are the
secondary data.
The result of the research shows that the internal and external aspects of
someone�s life can ruin their life. In the case of Pecola, her environment and her-self
becomes the factor of damage for herself. Her family, friends, neighbors and also her
misconception of beauty make her insane just because she wants the love from the
people around her
