| Summary: | The aim of the research is to reveal psychological condition of the main
character and the character�s manner in solving his problems. This research used
psychological literary method. However, before using psychological literary
method, the research used the analysis of character and characterization to make
psychological literary analysis easier.
Based on the analysis of the character and characterization, it can be
understood that the main character of this novel is Dr. Sya>hi>n. The psychological
condition of the main character can be seen by his various actions in facing of an
event.
To do of his profession, he suceeded to restrain his feeling and still
became professional as a lecturer. When doing new experiments, he was
persistent in elaborating his work to create new inventions. Ingratitude of his new
invention by Akomba>, he insisted that he wanted to make himself as object of his
own experiment. While undergoing a life in prison, he was frustrated and
accomplished his annoyance by injuring himself. In an attempt to get out of
prison, he was persistent to looking for ways to get out of the prison. Finally, to
make his new invention real, he was very ambitious to realize his invention by
making himself a target of the experiment. Based on this, it can be concluded that
the main character as a scientist was more controlled by the superego, so he
worked totality in realizing his love in science.
