description 500 kV Java Bali electric power system is vital and Voltage stability is one factor to be considered in planning and operation of electrical power systems. Voltage collapse phenomenon should be prevented and it could happen because of several condition such as high loading, contingency, or other disturbances. important power system, that required careful planning and operation. System voltage instability is undesirable, then condition of the systems voltage stability should be evaluated. In this study, the voltage stability of 500 kV Java Bali electric power system on October 22, 2013 will be seen using Fast Voltage Stability Index (FVSI), at 14:00 WIB and 19:00 WIB. Contingency scenarios also performed on the lines and the effect to voltage stability shown by simulation of P- V curve with Continuation Power Flow (CPF) method. This research used program Matpower 4.1 as a tool. The results show that the lines condition system on October 22, 2013 at 14:00 WIB and 19:00 WIB have index values less than 1. The addition of the load caused the line between Tasikmalaya-Depok reached index value 1 when the index values increase up to 2483 MW active load and reactive load increase up to 1090 Mvar at 19.00 WIB. Three lines that had the highest index were Paiton- Kediri, West Surabaya-Ungaran, and Tasikmalaya-Depok. From the simulation results, the line contingency caused a loading change of other lines, change of FVSI value, decrease of the voltage profile and voltage stability, evidenced by the P-V curve with Continuation Power Flow (CPF) method.
