Summary: | The purposes of this research are to find out the relation of wind speed
and salt content, factor or variables that affect the effectiveness of windbreak to
controlling salt content, and determine changes in the distribution of salt content
in agriculture area.
The wind speed measurements using digital hand anemometer, based on
variation in time of morning, afternoon, and evening. The wind speed
measurements used to see distribution of the wind speed in sandy land coastal
area. The transported salt by wind be measured on salt trap by using a
conductivity meter. Measurement of salt is used to determine the effectiveness of
windbreak in reducing salt content into agriculture area. Analysis the effectiveness
of windbreak using Paired Sample T-Test and linear regression curve to determine
the relation between wind speed with salt trapped.
The results showed that relation of salt content and wind speed in twopoint
measurement at shoreline are significant in form of linear regression. The
results explaine that the salt content increase by the increase of windspeed. The
windbreak developed by the local farmer, seem to be less effective in controlling
the salt content.
