description | Electrical power system is a large-scale system that attempted to function
continuously and must be reliable. Electrical power system comsist of generator,
transmission, distribution and last up to the consumer or load. Transmission line is
an important part to transfer the electrical power from the generator to the
consumer. Sometimes the transmission line become contingency because of
interference. This makes the value of the risk in the system is high and the system
becomes unreliable.
One way to minimize generation cost and risk of the system when contingency
line occured by using optimal power flow with genetic algorithm and considering the
risk. The method of the optimal power flow in the system is expected to reduce the
risk that may occur when the line loss from the system. So it can be determined that
the algorithm can be applied to optimize the generation cost in optimal power flow
problem.
The method is tested using standart test system IEEE 14 bus considering risk.
By using this method, the optimal power flow problem considering the risk with
contingency in line 1 can be solved with total cost is $ 9.067. The total cost without
considering the risk is only $ 8.087. From those result, it can be concluded that the
total cost considering risk is more expensive than the total cost without considering
the risk., but the system becomes more secure and more reliable. |
