Summary:Background: Stunting is one of the problems of nutritional toddler. Stunting is a linear growth failure with a deficit in body length for age <-2 z-scores based on standard reference growth of World Health Organization. A large number of children who experience stunting give an indication in the community there is a problem that goes on long enough. Stunting is influenced by many factors such as exclusive breastfeeding. Yogyakarta City coverage is still low exclusive breastfeeding (46.37%) and the prevalence of stunting toddler reaches 15.92%. Therefore the need to be studied exclusively breastfeeding as risk factors of stunting in children aged 6-24 months. Objective: Analyze exclusive breastfeeding as a risk factor for the incidence of stunting in children aged 6-24 months in the Yogyakarta City. Methods: This study is an observational study with case control study design. It�s population is all children aged 6-24 months in the Yogyakarta City. The subjects were all children aged 6-24 months were recorded in the register a toddler posyandu in 3 subdistricts (Umbulharjo, Tegalrejo and Kota gede) and his parents lived at the study site of inclusion and exclusion criteria. Number of samples 121 cases and 121 controls. Univariate data analysis, bivariate using Chi-square, and multivariate using multiple logistic regression. Result: This research shows as much as 39.67% of the children were exclusively breastfeeding and 60.33% are not exclusively breastfeeding. Bivariate analysis showed there is statistically significant association between exclusive breastfeeding with the inci dence of stunting in children aged 6-24 months in the Yogyakarta City (p= 0.03
