The study discusses Adrian Veidt as the main character including his motive in making fake alien invasion in order to achieve peace. The researcher uses the psychological approach, which is Individual Psychology by Alfred Adler. This theory is utilized to unveil the motive of Adrian Veidt in carrying out his plan. Furthermore, the theory also explores Adrian�s character, including his perspective changing, which builds the motive. The result of the study signifies that Adrian�s motive in doing his evil plan is striving for superiority. As the story goes, his superiority is corrupted by his helpless feeling towards the end of the world. He feels that the only way to compensate his inferiority feeling is by achieving world peace. He even uses unreasonable solution such as creating fake alien invasion as public enemy to achieve peace between the East (Soviet Union) and the West (United States). During executing his evil plan, he always makes sure that everything runs well. Moreover, he does not mind to kill innocent people who are in his way, as long as it is necessary for the plan. His brilliant yet cunning mind can be seen through the way he achieved peace which is describes in the plot of the story.
