Summary: | Scaffold functions as synthetic extracellular matrix to induce proliferation
and differentiation of cells in tissue regeneration. The aim of this study is to
investigate the influence of gelatin and carbonate apatite (CHA) composition to
degradation profile of gelatin-CHA film.
Gelatin-CHA film was synthesized in gelatin system using calcium
hydroxide and phosphoric acid, followed by dehydrothermal crosslinking process.
The gelatin-CHA films with different concentration of 100/00, 90/10, 80/20,
70/30, 60/40. 50/50 and 40/60 in weight% were used in this study. Specimens
were immersed in simulated body fluid and incubated at 37
o
C. Absorbance at 1, 2,
4, 24 and 48 hours were measured by UV-Vis Spectrometer at 280 nm
wavelength.
Degradation profiles were analyzed statistically with One Way ANOVA,
continued by Post Hoc Test using Least Significant Different (LSD). The results
showed that there was significant differences in the degradation profile by
different compositions of gelatin-carbonate apatite (p<0.05).
