Summary:Heat from diesel engine will be released to the environment without further use an energy source, that is very economical to use for a particular purpose. For example, residual heat of combustion (exhaust gas) diesel engine used fishing boats for absorption refrigeration system to cooled the products. In the absorption refrigeration system, work of compressor replaced with absorber, pump, heat exchanger, generator, and rectifier. The trick is the low-pressure vapor is absorbed in the absorber and then the pressure increased with the pump. Heat exchangers are used to raise the temperature (preheating) before entering the generator. Furthermore, in the generator will arise ammonia vapor and water. The question now is how to design the cooling system in accordance with the absorption of heat energy available from the exhaust gases of diesel engines. At this absorption system uses heat energy from exhaust gas at 200 o C. The refrigerant using ammonia-water (NH3-H20), as appropriate to the low temperatures. Refrigerated products are the results of marine catches of 200 kg. The design of the system components is absorption using LMTD method by analyzing Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer. From the end of calculation results, obtained detailed dimensions. Generally, construction absorption system components such as heat exchangers. The shape of heat exchangers, generator, condenser, and absorber is tubular and it�s contain shell and tube. For evaporator, the shape is double pipes with baffle plates.
