description Tomographic studies have been conducted in Central Java and the surrounding area using passive tomography. This study aims to determine the subsurface section five volcanoes in Central Java (Mt. Lawu, Mt. Merapi, Mt. Unggaran, Mt. Sumbing, and Mt. Slamet) based on P-wave velocity anomalies. This study was conducted using the data MERAMEX Project (Merapi Amphibious Experiment) which is an integrated three-component seismometer network system (using a total of 169 seismic stations) which was built in 2004 in Central Java, and Yogyakarta. Data processing was performed using a program called Lotos-10 (Local Tomography Software) by define model parameters and perform inversion that produces a image of P-wave and S-wave velocity anomaly deviation in percent (%). The image results obtained up to a depth of 25 km using secondary data that result by picking phase Koulakov, (2007). From tomographic inversion, image of P-and S waves velocity anomalies have range values between +10% and (-10%) and for the MLAs area (Merapi-Lawu Anomaly) has a value of (-10%). Velocity anomaly distribution model of P-wave beneath Mt. Lawu, Merapi, Unggaran, Sumbing and Slamet described in a vertical cross-section based on P-wave velocity. Based on the inversion results, seen in every vertical incision describe a similar distribution pattern of speed.
