the middle of their limited resource. It is not just the strategy of farming, how the
management and the use of forest and land resource also become an interesting part
to discuss in this paper. The existence of Bromo Tengger Semeru national park in
the middle of the Ngadas society gives a significant effect. The use of forest and
land resource that become limited has force the people of Ngadas taken some
adaptive act in order to fulfill their needs.
For the Ngadas society, the forest resource interpreted as a natural resource
that have an economical, religious and socio-cultural values. The dependent of the
Ngadas people with the forest being react from the national park with forming a
traditional utilization zone to utilize the land around enclave. Meanwhile the nonland
utilization the national park allow the people to gather the forest products
under terms and condition. The land and forest resource crisis were not the end for
the Ngadas people. They were able to optimize their limited land to fulfill their
subsistence needs. Green revolution in the highland also contribute to access for
cash money and also the diversification of jobs in Ngadas.
The life romance in Ngadas that shows a simplicity, innocence and
egalitarian now have to accept that among them already created a social classes
These social classes were contribute to affect the Ngadas society defense strategy in
the middle of the difficult times because of the increased price of needs. There were
also a different of adaptive act taken by the farmer based on their social class. |
