Description
Summary:One of the new and renewable energy in Indonesia is water energy. At the microhydro and minihydro, the machine used to generate electricity is the induction machine. The induction machine is operated as an induction generator (IMAG). In operation, IMAG required reactive power supply. Therefore, the parallel operation of the induction generator with synchronous generator is one of the solutions that can be developed at the time of induction generator can not connect to the network. IMAG However, parallel operation between synchronous generator and not fully guaranteed. At the time, parallel operation between synchronous generator and IMAG broke, so just IMAG who supply the load. This state is called a state of loss of grid. IMAG power supply is not able to serve the needs of the power on the load. As a result, the system voltage will drop. In this study, to restore the system voltage at the nominal voltage of the sensor used Power Meter PM 800 and control using PLC Schneider. Therefore, the load can be switched off automatically when there is loss of grid. The purpose of this study is to conduct a study on the condition of voltage, current and frequency system during loss of grid, how to make arrangements in the event of loss of grid, and compared the loss of grid without PLC and conditions of loss of grid using PLC. PLC control, the system voltage Based on the results and analysis of test results obtained some important results. At the end loss of grid condition without drops, the current that flows up and down the frequency. Loading units remain operational. In case of loss of grid using PLC control, the system will return to normal voltage. Operating system voltage returns done gradually. The current flowing shrink over voltage and frequency increase back to normal. Most units cut off.
