The aim of the research is to know how far the civil perception of
community forest certification, the factor influencing the perception, and the
impact of the perception in terms of managing community forest.
This research use qualitative approach with case study method. The data
collection used observation technique, deep interview with interview guide and
documentation. The data objects needed were primary which was the
informational of civil perception and the impact of the perception in terms of
community forest management and secondary obtained from village monograph
data. Data and information analyzed used descriptive analysis method where the
method portrays the civil perception in detail and factual.

Based on the research result is known several appearances of the
perception whether in the KWLM (Wana Lestari Menoreh Cooperative) member
or the non member. Some people of the society detain positively that community
forest certification is as a tool for increasing community timber quality and also
gives the civil in community forest management learning that guides on
sustainable principal, but not all of them understand what community forest is
about. There are three factors influencing civil perception. They are member
status in KWLM, how much information that the society gets, and the past
experience of managing community forest. The impacts of the different perception
on managing community forest for the KWLM member are the way of
management according to sustainable principal and clear yet well-organized
planning in the management. While the non member society, the community
forest management still uses traditionally ways.
