| description | Subgingival microorganisms in periodontitis are dominated by gram-negative
bacteria such as Phorporymonas Gingivalis. Bacteria and their products can enter the
periodontal tissues and blood circulation, these led to the infiltration of inflammatory
cells into the arterial wall, which then leads to the occurrence of atherosclerosis by
leukocytes, migration of leukocytes into the arterial wall is closely associated with
vascular changes that led to the occurrence of atherosclerosis. Ateroskerosis has been
understood as a vascular inflammatory conditions, and in this case the leukocytes is an
integrated indicator of inflammatory stimuli on acute and chronic phase. leukocytes also
have an important role in the process of atherosclerosis. The purpose of this research is to
know the difference the number of leukocytes between atherosclerosis and periodontitis.
This study used 24 Sprague-Dawley male rats as subjects, who were divided into
3 groups: the first group (periodontitis) is given by injection of Pophorymonas Gingivalis
