Summary:Bamboo handicraft business in Gilangharjo Village has existed since the 1970s began with the rise of poultry fram business. To meet the needs of cages, breeder cages laying hens make their own to save the issued capital. Since then several people in the village, especially Daleman, Jodog and Karangasem in Gilangharjo choose to work as artisans especially bamboo cage. Request for laying hens cage today is not much like it used to so many artisans who make innovations to create other types of enclosures. Bamboo handicraft business is still be one of the bamboo artisans work deemed sufficiently profitable compared to other employment sectors. To maintain consistency of effort is certainly bamboo handucraft artisans in cooperation with order bamboo artisans. Cooperations that exsits between the bamboo craftsmen prove the existence of sosial capital within the bamboo artisans in the village of Gilangharjo. This study aims to provide an overview of how forms of sosial capital bamboo artisans in the village of Gilangharjo. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The author conducted indepth interviews and collect data and documentation used to take a final conclusion. The technique used in this study was purposive sampling (sampels intended). The informant is Gilangharjo village govermment and bamboo artisans residing in Daleman, Jodog and Karangasem. The results showed that the research conducted of bamboo handicraft businesses in the village Gilangharjo able to thrive due to the social capital that exsist. Social capital consists of trus, network and nomrs do exist and prevail among the bamboo artisans in the village of Gilangharjo. Trust can be seen from the artisans of trus with workers, with fellow crafters bamboo or trus of consumers. In terms of the network has at network of bamboo artisans are pretty good that at this stage of the supply of raw materials and marketing of their products. Prevailing norms among crafters like to always keep a healthy competition, hard work and honesty becoming a basic guideline bamboo artisans in the village of Gilangharjo
