Summary:Mobile-GIS is one of mapping method which can be integrated with Personal Digital Assistant and GIS application for real-time data acquisition and assumpted has many advantages compare to conventional mapping method ( Remote Sensing-GIS) and paper using as one of instrument for data acquisition. The purpose of this research is (1) Exploring capabilities of Mobile-GIS for data acquisition (2)Comparing conventional maping method and Mobile-GIS mapping method, the advantages and disadvantages (3)Exploring capabilities of Quickbird Imagery as a high spatial resolution image for Public Green Open Spaces object acquisition that resulted key of interpretation of those Green Open Spaces object. This reseacrh try to compare data acquisition methodes between conventional method and Mobile-GIS method for Public Green Open Space object. Mobile-GIS method use Personal Digital Assistant, GPS Receiver, Smartphone, and Arcpad as integrated hardware and software. Green Opne Spaces data collection embraces tipology, real-time object condition, even location and complete address. Comparison analytical results in a form of table that consist the advantages and disadvantagse each mapping methods which is used in this reseacrh and few aspect has been choosen to evaluate and analyze each methods. Conventional mapping method can do mapping for large area object rapidly and correctly for at least 85% object accurate but less detail of information. Otherwise Mobile-GIS can do more detail fo acquisition data and more efficient to mobilize becaus of its portable device. This research shows that the amount of Public Green Open Space areas doesn�t fulfill requirements that Govenrment has provided because it�s only 5,7% from total Surakarta area. Based on research, each methods have disadvantage an advantage, combination of those methods will give best result.
