description This study aims to determine the potential for the development of ginger, galingale, turmeric, and silk treein the middle part of Keduang Sub-watershed. The research was conducted on few steps, they are field orientation, field surveys, laboratory analysis, and forming recommendation map of regional development. The first step was overlaying maps of slope, soil, and land use.It will be acquired land mapping units (LMU) representing the characteristics of each region. Second, sampling and surveys in the field was determined by key areas systemmethod. The data observed at the time of survey and field verification are slope, landuse, elevation, drainage, soil depth, coarse material (%), erosion, flooding, surface rock , and outcrops rock. Laboratory analysis includes CEC, pH (H�O), C-organic, electrical conductivity, and soil texture. From the research, the largest actual land suitability for ginger, galingale, turmeric, and silk tree is S2 with limiting factor are soil depth, coarse material, pH, Corganic, slope, dan erosion hazard. Recommendation for ginger in the middle part of Keduang sub-watershed are 2,299.4 hectares (19.3%), galingale-tumeric are 296.6 hectares (2.5%), galingale-tumeric-silk tree are 1,645.4 hectares (13.8%), and silk tree are 18.3 hectares (0.2%) respectively. Based on the analysis of land suitability, land use, and the B/C ratio, ginger is recommended with rotation systems on rainfed areas. Galingale-turmeric is suitable on dry land , garden , and residential area. Galingaleturmeric- silk tree suitable withpolyculture systems because itwill reach optimum production at 70 % of light intensity and shade plant on dry conditions. Silk tree is recomended on critical land. Based on the analysis, ginger, galingale, and turmeric has high economic potential for development in the middle part of Keduang Sub-watershed.
