ions which then diffuses into the dentin tubules and produce pH of more than 11.
The aims of this study is to determine the effect of contact time of calcium
hydroxide paste mixed with 2% of chlorhexidine digluconate, saline, and 2% of
lidocaine HCl as a sterilization material on the dentin pH on the apical third of the
root dentin.
Forty - five intact mandibular premolars were used in this study. All teeth
were instrumented with crown � down technique using Protaper Rotary files and 6
mm of apical roots were cut horizontaly. All teeth were assigned randomly into 3
groups of 15 according to the contact time and the vehicle of calcium hydroxide.
