description | This research purposed to reveal the effect of arbuscula mycorrhizal fungi (AMF)
application with phosphate fertilizer and compost dosage precisely to seedling growth
of sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) on coast sand medium. It was conducted in a
plant field of Banguntapan belonging to Agriculture Faculty of Gadjah Mada
University in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. It was started from November 2012 until
March 2013.
The experimental design applied the randomized complete block design (RCBD)
with 3 factors and 3 blocks. The first factor was AMF treatment consisting of 2 levels,
i.e. without AMF (M0) and with AMF (M1). The second factor was compost dosage
consisting of 2 levels, i.e. 10 ton/ha (K1) and 20 ton/ha (K2). The third factor was kind
of phosphate fertilizer consisting of 2 kinds, i.e. SP-36 300 kg/ha (P1) and phosphate
rocks equalized to 300 kg/ha of SP-36 (P2). The collected data were analyzed then by
means of analysis of variance (ANOVA) applying level of significance α = 5 %.
Whenever the significant differences among treatments were found, further analysis was
carried out by applying a Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) of α = 5 %.
The results showed that the interaction between giving AMF treatment with SP-36
fertilizer and compost dosage 20 ton/ha significantly affected shoot fresh weight, shoot
dry weight, and total dry weight of sugarcane growth 80 days after the planting (dap).
There was no interaction among the treatments in some parameters, such as plant
weight, leaf quantity, stem diameter, internode quantity, internode length, sub plant
quantity, leaf area, root volume, root fresh weight, total fresh weight, and root dry
weight. The treatment with AMF gave the better result than the treatment without AMF
in growth component of sugarcane generally. The treatment of dosage compost
20 ton/ha gave the better result than the treatment of dosage compost 10 ton/ha in
growth component of sugarcane generally. |
